Appointment Day

Isaiah 40:29-31 "He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

I'm so thankful that God gives us strength and energy when we need it the most. Wednesday was a long day! We got up before 6 and were out the door by 7am. We dropped the four oldest girls off at my friend Susan's house where they did school work until music class. We took Micaela and Joella with us to the doctor appointment. We decided it was easier to take them with us then trying to find a babysitter. They were so excited to go "downtown to Papa's doctor". The appointment went well and we have our next round of chemo ordered. Lord willing, next Thursday will start the last chemo cycle for Wayne. 

Joella keeps saying that her "leg hurts" as an excuse to be carried. I think she probably has a bruise from her tumble on Tuesday, but she also is using it to her advantage. Wayne was more then willing to  carry her. He says she is the last one he gets to carry...and not for much longer.

The girls decided to make funny faces for us while we were waiting for the doctor.

After we got home from Northwestern, I left to pick up Sophia from my friend Susan. She had taken the kids to the park after music class for a picnic lunch with other homeschool friends. Sophia went in for her speech IEP meeting. After meeting, we decided that Sophia is done with speech!!! She is super thrilled because now she can take ballet. Micaela is excited as well because she gets to take ballet too! After leaving the IEP meeting, I went home and picked up Wayne and Joella and headed to the plastic surgeon. We got wonderful news from him. The stitches that were done on Tuesday night were done really well so there was no need to fix or re-do the stitches. I'm not sure Joella would have let him touch her lip anyway, so God was good in answering that prayer.

Speaking of answered prayers, I just wanted to mention how awesome of a God we serve. We have been praying for a friend of ours whose daughter (9) was suffering from a genetic form of kidney disease. In one month her kidneys went from working at 60% to 43%. The doctors told them to prepare to have her on dialysis in the next few months and put her on a kidney list. Megan went in for a biopsy Wednesday to check her kidneys. I got a text Thursday afternoon from my friend telling me that Megan's preliminary results came back and the doctor is baffled by the results. He said that the results show normal, healthy kidney tissue. He has no medical explanation for this and has never seen this before. He was so shocked by the results that he had to double check he didn't have the wrong medical file when he called my friend. There is no scare tissue and no sign of disease from the biopsy. Our God is truly Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals!!!
