Determined to discover exactly what happened, Izzy's investigation sends her headfirst into a criminal organization, possibly with cops on the payroll--including someone from her own family. With her dead partner's handsome homicide detective brother Ryan shadowing her every move, Izzy's head is spinning. How can she secure justice for her partner when doing so could mean sending someone she loves to prison? And how will she guard her heart when the man she's had a secret crush on for years won't leave her side?

Where do I begin with reviewing this book? This book was amazing! I was it could go on forever, this was my first cop/suspense book and it most defiantly will not be my last! I have no idea why I have never read this type of book before. These books always keep you on your toes and they get your heart pounding with worry and fear for the characters that you have grown to love. This book made a bundle of emotions. It wasn't as much of a roller coaster of emotions as it was in Isaiah's Daughter but this book just made me want to jump into the book and comfort Ryan and Izzy.

This book was about a young cop named Isabella (Izzy), she and her partner were at a stack out because he had recently got a lead on something that was going to be going down during that particular night. Being a young, ambitious cop, Kevin Marshall decided that he was going to go into the warehouse in order to catch what the men were doing. Izzy tried to stop him, but he was to stubborn to listen. As a result to him ambitiousness, he was shot and later died at the hospital.

At the crime site, Ryan Marshall rushed over to where his brother and Izzy were. Izzy was crying because she had just witnessed the potential death of her partner and best friend. Ryan vowed that he would catch his brothers killer. Ryan and Izzy teamed up to track down and catch the men responsible for the death of Kevin. With being around Izzy so much, Ryan's feelings started to get stronger. Little did he know that Izzy was feeling the exact same way.

After a whole bunch of near death experiences and plot twists. They finally came to find out who truely was behind all the chaos. They finally were able to put a stop to the people behind the death of Kevin and others.

This book really makes me want to go and visit cops and thank them for all they do to protect us! Many people these days are always hating on cops and saying that they are terrible. I would just like to say that, yes there have been some cases when the cop should not have killed that person, but we are all HUMANS!! We all make mistakes, I know that killing someone is a rather HUGE mistake but if they think they see a gun or some kind of weapon they are taught to shot and kill. As much as I would love to be a cop. I personally could never do it. I am very appreciative of cops but I could not do it.

Things I loved about this book:

1. The faith. Both the St. John's and the Marshall's are christian, so seeing their faith throughout this book. Their faith is one of the things that kept them going, even though they most defiantly struggled with things especially after the death of Kevin, they still kept the faith and trusted God.

2. The Romance. The romance in this book was rather low-key but it still was a simple, sweet romance between Ryan and Izzy. I was happy with the ending of this book when it came to the romance between them!

3. The action. Oh man as I said before this book kept me on my toes. I also had my heart thumping in my chest a few of the parts. If you like books with a lot of action and near death experiences. By all means read the book and find out what I am talking out!

4. Ryan Marshall. I loved this main character. He was great, even though he was angry and sad about his brother's death, he still knew his place in the investigation. He knew what to do and what not to do. His concern for Izzy made this book all the better, he was concerned about her nearly the entire book. The great thing was is that it wasn't an over-board of protectiveness it was just enough that it was sweet.

5. This book is just so great overall!! I would recommend this to everyone who is over the age of 13, the only reason why I say 13 is just because of some of the violence. It was a little bloody but because I have seen a lot of marvel and cop shows/movies it was fine for me, but it all depends on how you stomach semi-graphic shootings and action.

This is my advice to you. Go to your local bookstore and go on amazon and buy this book! Or you can even go to the library (it's free that way). Just please go read it and I hope that you will love it as much as I did.

*I received this book from Revell Books, in exchange for my honest option on this book. All thoughts are my own.*
