Update 6/20/25: Day 24 - Chengdu Day 3

Romans 1:20-23 “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.”

Today we took a bullet train, a two hour bus ride (tested my stomach and nerves) and a cable car to reach our destination…Emie Mountain, which is the highest of the 4 Buddhist mountain tops. People pilgrimage here to go to this temple. We managed to walk over 15,000 steps again today.

The kid’s hearts are learning how it feels to see so many lost people in desperate need of Jesus.

Views from the bus.

Part of the climb. We had to hike up from the bus to the cable car. The temperature was about 20 degrees cooler at the top, which felt great!

Juyi’s chip bag almost exploded with the elevation gain. The mountain top is over 10,000 feet.

Shan had some fun today with some photo shots.

These men could be hired to carry you up the steps.

Taking pictures of each other. She was super sweet.

We were in a race for time to make the last boat to see the Leshan Buddha. We just made it on the boat! Tomorrow we will hike up and climb it. This was carved out of the rock around 700AD! So much old history in China!

The current on this river was intense!! They required us to wear a life vest and for good reason.

A sweet old lady selling bracelets that she made. 🩷
