Isaiah 38:16-20 "Lord, by such things people live; and my spirit find life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live. Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back. For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness. The living, the living - they praise you, as I am doing today; parents tell their children about your faithfulness. The Lord will save me, and we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the Lord."
Today was Wayne's MRI. I forgot until yesterday that it was coming up. Once I remembered, I tried not to dwell on it and focused on what God has done so far in our lives. He's been so faithful and good to us, I knew that I could rest in His plans. Wayne called me a few minutes ago to let me know that his scan came back clear once again. The doctor called him his boring patient again, which we will take. Once again, Wayne doesn't have to go back for another four months. It's unbelievable how well he is doing. He is now 40 months out from his diagnosis, which is unbelievable for GBM. Only God!!
Summer is off to a busy start. I feel like we are busies now then when school was going on. Abigail is in driver's edge, VBS, swimming, field trips, etc.
Abigail had one last school event for CC. She had her protocol, which is an event where she ate at a fancy restaurant downtown Chicago and went to a show. We saw 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which was amazing!
We visited Morton Arboretum to catch tadpoles. The kids all look forward to this every year. We took Wayne with us this year, since he has never been. I plan on going back again and hiking with the kids. We've never done anything except catch tadpoles, play in the kids section, and do the maze. We drove around and we're astounded by the arboretum.
We attended the same NRA event we went to last year. It was a youth event where they taught the kids how to do archery, shoot rifles, shoot shot guns, gun safety, and all about animals. My favorite part, besides shooting a rifle, was hearing the kids tell the conservation officer that the fish he was showing them was a gar and it can get up to 14 feet (they are reintroducing them in IL). I guess my kids have been watching too many episodes of River Monsters. They are walking encyclopedias about fish now...and don't want to go in any water!
We celebrated Abigail's 15th birthday the other day. Where does time go? Joella's birthday is this Saturday and my baby will be 6!! Below: Grace decided to match Abigail for church, which just thrilled Abigail.
We went strawberry picking a few days ago with some friends. Thankfully it was warm, but the sun was behind clouds so it wasn't pounding on us. We picked 6 buckets worth of strawberries. I froze one, we are eating one, and the rest I turned into strawberry jam. The kids have become snobs about their jelly and won't eat anything but my hkmemadh jelly. I made 14 quarts and 3 pints. Even with 8 kids, I hope that will last until next year...but you never know.
Joella went on her ice cream date with me the other day. My baby is growing up so fast!
Our homeschool garden is growing quickly. The kids are having fun watching their garden grow.
Thanks again for all your continued prayer for our family!!
