Update 4/13/25

Psalm 13:5-6 “But I have trusted in Your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.”

We had a busy, but amazing spring break. Two of our kids swapped places with their best friends from Chicago. I love the tight friendships my kids have. This is my quick catch up post since I have more to share in the next few days.

Update Wayne: he’s still doing amazing. He told me he believes he has reached his maximum walking speed: 2.0 mph. If you see him, remind him how amazing that is. He sometimes forgets how far he has come. I believe in the next week or two, his speech therapist will be back from maternity leave. He’s looking forward to working on his speech next.

Update Rebecca: I feel good. I did a round of steroids for my fingers, which helped immensely. Coming off the steroids wasn’t as much fun, but I made it through. Monday I have my follow up ct scan for that lung nodule. I’d appreciate prayers that it is completely gone. I won’t be having my immunotherapy until the beginning of May to make sure I don’t have a negative side effects before our trip to China.

My sister bought me a travel size mahjong game for Christmas. The kids and I have been trying to learn the Chinese version of the game before China so we can play with others. Shan has been watching videos and teaching all of us.

Swapping kids means I get to see my best friend Sue! This lady has been through some hard times with me and I just love her. She’s my bonus sister!

Joella went to Chicago and was spoiled with visiting Chinatown and getting boba tea. She had an amazing time there.

Bonus family includes crazy family members too. 🤣 Nah, we love Jason and who he is. He loves the Lord, his family, and others with all his heart. We are blessed to call him our friend and part of our family.

I’m still experimenting to get my bread perfect. It tastes good and everyone loves it, but I want it to look pretty like other loaves I see.

More mahjong fun. Shan found a game that uses the tiles that is easier for Wayne to play.

My dad completed his first week of radiation. He’s my hero and a champ! Please pray for him to endure the treatments with minimal side effects and for his back. His screw from surgery broke again.

Once again, thank you for all your continued prayers, love, and support. It has been a long 10 years, but God has been so faithful! He has used many of you to encourage us and support us during some of our most difficult days. We love all of you!

And finally, I am sharing Abigail’s wedding video. 🩷

Prayer Requests:
- Rebecca’s CT scan
- Wayne’s speech and mobility
- Glen, Rebecca’s dad, for his radiation
- Roy, Wayne’s dad. He starts radiation therapy 17th.
