Update 6/9/25: Day 13 - Taiwan Day 8

Genesis 1:29 “Then God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is in the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you.”

This morning for breakfast, we enjoyed the award winning bread from Wu Pao Chun bakery. The bread had delicious dried dragon fruit and nuts in it. We had some fresh fruit with the bread. The fruit around here is the best I’ve ever had!!!

After breakfast, we headed for the low mountains to see where pineapple grows. The views were beautiful!

Mango has become one of my new favorite fruits since being in Taiwan. It tastes so much better since it’s fresh!

We then headed to Sunny Hills for their famous pineapple cake with oolong tea. It was a delicious 2nd meal of the day. 🤣

Micaela forgot her sunscreen, so we used the next best thing - an umbrella. We have seen many Taiwanese doing this very thing. Micaela may bring an umbrella everywhere with her.

Pineapple cake and banana cookies- all made from local fruit!

We all love how they use robots to help deliver food to the tables.

Lychee trees!! The lychee here is so fresh and delicious.

Tina bought about 5 bags filled with lychee. The fruit ladies kept talking about the “Americans”. I know that word for sure now- Meiguoren.

We passed through miles of rice fields. I am excited about Guilin in a few weeks.

We stopped at another famous meatball place. This one has been in business for over 100 years! The food was delicious. The dough around the meat reminded me of mochi…but of course savory, and not sweet.

Meal #3

Fresh pineapple from the pineapple farms!

Meal #5 - jiaozi (dumplings) and meal #6 - lychee followed by our last Taiwanese bubble tea.

Our bags are packed! We leave at 8 tomorrow for the airport in Taipei. We will fly to Shanghai tomorrow, which will begin our Mainland China segment of our trip. I cannot believe that it has been almost two weeks! We have all been having a blast and making many memories.
