Trip West: Part 2

Isaiah 42:10 "Sing to the LORD a new song, Sing His praise from the end of the earth! You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it. You islands, and those who dwell on them."

If you missed Part 1 of our trip, you can see it here. After we left Mammoth Lake, the girls and I headed to Yosemite for the day. It was beautiful going over Tioga Pass into Yosemite. I think the girls were tired from all of our travels. Grace said, "All I see are some rocks and trees. I don't know what everyone is excited about here!" Maybe we have taken them to too many National Parks??

Getting sworn in as a Jr. Ranger

One of my favorite memories of my dad is his "jelly rolls" aka crepes. Every time we see my dad, the girls ask him to make them. We had them twice on the trip...more hiking please! Naomi was excited to be Opa's helper for the day.

We went blueberry picking on Saturday. It is always fun picking blueberries. All of the blueberries were gone within two days!!

On Monday, we took a quick trip to Lake Tahoe to go fishing (since we didn't catch anything in Mammoth). Right when we were about to leave because we hadn't caught anything, Naomi caught a fish. We then stayed an extra hour and everyone caught a fish....all except Joella. This is how Joella fished. I helped her cast her fishing line out, she would tell me there was a fish and would reel it in...and there would be no fish on the line. We did this about 10 times and then I told her she was done. :)

Yes, we ate the fish and it was amazing!!!

On Thursday morning, after relaxing by the pool and playing in the playhouse, the girls and I headed north to Vancouver, WA. It was a LONG drive, but by God's grace I was able to make the entire drive by myself in one day. I figured out a trick to keeping the kids happy...we had a snack every hour. They would count down the minutes to the next snack, which helped break up the long day.

Once we arrived, we settled in and visited with family. I took a little nap because I had to pick Wayne up from the airport at 12:20am!! It was a crazy day, but I was so glad to get to WA safely and have Wayne back with us.

We took daily walks or bike rides around this park. It was absolutely beautiful!

The twins...we were so exited to finally meet them!

On Father's Day, we had a family picnic at the park. It doubled as a Father's Day party and a surprise 40th birthday party for Wayne.

Sneak Peak: Part 3 - Some family photos, Mt. Rainier, Olympic National Park, Victoria (Vancouver Island). Part 4 - Copper Island. Part 5 - National Redwood Forrest, Santa Rosa, and San Francisco.

Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for two big events the next week:

1. Wayne's MRI is tomorrow (7/11) at 8:30am. Please pray for peace and God's will to be done.

2. Piano Man comes 7/18!! If anyone is interested in ordering sheets, we are still taking orders. Any size (twin, full, queen, king, ca king) is $35 for 1 set or $65 for two sets ($10 for shipping). Finally, we ask that if you are around us and Piano Man, please do NOT ask us about adoption in front of him. He is here for a special summer camp in America with a family. Any talk of adoption in front of him could cause confusion (even talking about pet adoption). If you’d like more information about this international orphan hosting program, visit www.orphanhosting.com. Again, we kindly ask that you NOT ask us about adoption in front of the Piano Man.
